Travelling to Farchant by car
When coming from Munich, Farchant is 3 km (approx. 2 mi.) before Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
- If you are coming from Munich, take the A 95 freeway towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. At the end of the freeway after the Eschenlohe exit, continue on the B2 federal highway. Before the entrance to the tunnel, turn right towards Farchant (3 km/approx. 2 mi. before Garmisch-Partenkirchen).
- From Augsburg – Schongau, take the B 17 and B 23 federal highways to the town of Oberammergau, then continue on to Oberau. From Oberau, continue on the B 2 highway, turn right towards Farchant before the entrance to the tunnel.
- If you are coming from the south, take the Brennerautobahn/AutoBrennero freeway (toll) towards Innsbruck – Mittenwald.

Arriving by rail
Great: Trains are stopping in Farchant again!
Take advantage of the convenient direct train connections to Farchant! Almost all major German cities have excellent ICE train connections to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There is even a scenic train connection from Reutte, Austria to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Once there, all you need to do is get on the regional train or a local bus to Farchant!
Or travel directly to Farchant on an RVO regional train from Munich.
Arriving by plane
Arrival at the Munich Airport (approx. 110 km/68 mi. from Farchant), continue by MVV public transport (S-Bahn) to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof). From there take the train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Oberau, or Farchant.
You can also fly to the Innsbruck Airport (approx. 60 km/37 mi.) or the Augsburg Airport (approx. 110 km/68 mi.) and then continue by train or bus.
